You can enjoy an unmatched and mesmerizing panoramic train journey, as you pass through the ancient towns of the Incas. Travel through the alpine meadows nestled amongst the green, brown and white peaks, the intricately formed valleys, layers of handmade Inca farming terraces, ridged snowcapped mountains and sub-tropical jungle near the Amazon up to Aguas Calientes.
Transported by shuttle bus from Aguas Calientes to begin your connection to the natural world and cultural show at the citadel of Machu Picchu (2,400m/7907ft), catch yourself as you travel back in time to this magical place, sacred and mysterious, with the name of Machu-Picchu, “The Old Sacred Mountain.” Take your time exploring the majestic Machu Picchu, the Incan ruins rich in history of its past and the thriving culture of the people who once resided there.

Machu Picchu Tour by Expedition Train (1 Day)
Experience a day of adventure and mindfulness at the majestic Lost City of the Incas. This small-group tour balances guided history with personal exploration.
Tour Schedule & Itinerary
- 04:00 AM: Private van transfer from your hotel in Cusco to Ollantaytambo Train Station.
- 06:10 AM: Departure by Expedition Train. Enjoy views of alpine meadows, glacier peaks, and the Vilcanota River.
- 07:30 AM: Arrival in Aguas Calientes; meet your guide and take the 30-minute shuttle bus to the Citadel.
- 08:00 AM: 2.5-hour guided cultural tour of Machu Picchu's history and architecture.
- 10:30 AM: Free time for photography, self-exploration, or extra hikes (Sun Gate/Inca Bridge).
- 12:00 PM: Shuttle bus back to Aguas Calientes for lunch and exploring the town.
- 04:22 PM: Return Expedition Train to Ollantaytambo.
- 08:30 PM: Arrival back at your hotel in Cusco via private van.

- Minimum Requirement: Tours are available on any date with a minimum of 2 hikers.
